How to use Color Converter
- Open the color picker and select a color, or enter a HEX value in the browser’s picker if supported.
- Select Convert Color.
- Review the HEX, RGB and HSL values in the result.
- Copy the values into your CSS, design notes or theme settings.
The same color. Three useful formats.
HEX expresses red, green and blue channels as hexadecimal pairs. RGB shows those channels from 0 to 255. HSL describes hue, saturation and lightness, making it easier to discuss color relationships. This tool calculates integer HSL values from an opaque six-digit HEX color.
A FEW THINGS TO KNOW
A little more clarity.
Does this support transparent colors?
The picker works with opaque six-digit HEX colors. Alpha channels and eight-digit HEX are not supported.
Why use HSL instead of HEX?
HSL separates hue, saturation and lightness, which can make manual adjustments easier. HEX and RGB describe the same underlying sRGB color channels.
Can this check text contrast?
No. Use a dedicated contrast checker to assess foreground and background combinations for accessibility.
