SEO / THE EVERYDAY TOOLKIT
Heading Outline Checker.
Review heading levels, skipped sections and repeated labels. This is a free utility from my portfolio toolkit, with local browser processing and no account required.
Paste an outline rather than HTML. Skipped levels, repeated labels and H1 counts are review prompts, not ranking scores. The tool does not inspect a live page.
SIMPLE BY DESIGN
How to use Heading Outline Checker
- Paste only heading lines using H1: through H6: or Markdown # notation.
- Run the check and review the outline and warnings.
- Fix unclear sections in the source, then inspect the rendered page again.
Make the outline describe the reader’s route through a page.
Copy the meaningful headings from a page into H1: and H2: notation or Markdown heading lines. This checker lists the supplied structure and flags jumps in heading levels, repeated labels and unusual main-heading counts. Use the result to review whether each section has a clear purpose. It cannot see hidden elements, assess the complete rendered DOM or replace keyboard and screen-reader testing. Multiple H1 elements are not automatically a Google indexing error; the goal is a coherent outline.
A FEW THINGS TO KNOW
A little more clarity.
Is one H1 a guaranteed ranking improvement?
No. A clear main heading helps readers understand a page. This checker gives structural review prompts rather than a search ranking score.
Is my input sent to a server?
No. This utility processes your input in your browser. URLs you paste are treated as data; the tool does not fetch them. Be careful with clipboard history on shared devices.
