DEVELOPER / THE EVERYDAY TOOLKIT

UUID Generator.

Generate random version 4 UUIDs with browser cryptography. This is a free utility from my portfolio toolkit, with local browser processing and no account required.

Creates version 4 UUIDs using crypto.randomUUID. Requires a secure browser context such as HTTPS or localhost. UUIDs are identifiers, not access credentials.

SIMPLE BY DESIGN

How to use UUID Generator

  1. Choose a whole-number count between 1 and 100.
  2. Generate the UUIDs in an HTTPS browser context or on localhost.
  3. Copy the identifiers into your test data, keeping authentication secrets separate.

Generate identifiers without a server round trip.

Version 4 UUIDs are useful for local prototypes, test records and request correlation. The browser supplies cryptographic randomness through crypto.randomUUID, and the utility prints one identifier per line. Random UUIDs make accidental collisions unlikely; they do not replace database uniqueness constraints or access control. Avoid treating a publicly visible identifier as a password simply because it is difficult to guess.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

A little more clarity.

Are these sequential or time-sortable UUIDs?

No. These are random version 4 UUIDs. Their order does not encode creation time.

Is my input sent to a server?

No. This utility processes your input in your browser. URLs you paste are treated as data; the tool does not fetch them. Be careful with clipboard history on shared devices.
