How to use URL Slug Generator

  1. Paste a descriptive page title.
  2. Generate the lowercase, hyphen-separated slug.
  3. Review readability and uniqueness before using it in a new page route.

Turn a heading into a stable, readable path segment.

A useful URL slug describes a page without unnecessary punctuation. This generator normalizes Unicode, removes combining accent marks, lowercases the result and uses hyphens between groups of letters and numbers. Non-Latin letters are retained instead of being discarded. A slug is only one part of a URL strategy: changing an established path may need a redirect, internal-link updates and a revised canonical URL.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

A little more clarity.

Does it remove non-English letters?

It preserves Unicode letters and numbers. Some accent marks are normalized away, but scripts are not transliterated into English.

Is my input sent to a server?

No. This utility processes your input in your browser. URLs you paste are treated as data; the tool does not fetch them. Be careful with clipboard history on shared devices.
