SEO / THE EVERYDAY TOOLKIT
Hreflang Tag Generator.
Draft alternate-language link tags from a locale and URL list. This is a free utility from my portfolio toolkit, with local browser processing and no account required.
Use this complete alternate set on every listed page, including its own entry. Tags must match real equivalent pages. Review supported language codes, response status, canonicals and reciprocal links before publishing.
SIMPLE BY DESIGN
How to use Hreflang Tag Generator
- List a language tag and its equivalent page URL on each line.
- Add x-default only when an appropriate fallback page exists.
- Generate the tags and review the same complete set on every alternative.
Describe real language alternatives consistently.
Hreflang annotations connect equivalent versions of a page for different languages or regions. Supply one language tag and absolute URL on each line. The generator normalizes basic tag casing and escapes the HTML output. It rejects duplicate language labels, fragments and embedded credentials. The complete set belongs on every listed page, including the page itself; inspect reciprocal annotations and canonical targets on your real host. Do not use this to label unrelated landing pages as translations.
A FEW THINGS TO KNOW
A little more clarity.
Does this verify my translations or live URLs?
No. It checks basic syntax and drafts markup. Verify language support, content equivalence, HTTP responses, canonicals and return links separately.
Is my input sent to a server?
No. This utility processes your input in your browser. URLs you paste are treated as data; the tool does not fetch them. Be careful with clipboard history on shared devices.
